Current State of "Man Enough to Heal"

The “Man Enough to Heal” film is a very personal project. When I started making films I knew this film was something I must do. Finding men who’ve had the shared experience of recovering from childhood sexual trauma has been a healing journey.
The fact that Ending up with a film that might find the eyes of men who think they’re the only ones who live with this pain,
is a great side effect of this amazing experience.

I can’t believe we’ve been working on the film now for over three years. Luckily, we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. We’re working on our marketing plan to help get the film available in the best place for viewing.

The editing is going really well at this point. We’ve finally honed the story we want to tell, and now it’s on to the spit and polish to make it into an actual film. We’re still planning on doing test screenings with an eye at submitting for film festivals in the fall. We hope the film will be available to the general public by summer of 2023 (though I’m a little optimistic). If you want to be notified about test screenings and releases, please sign up for the newsletter here:

We’ve also recently released a trailer for the film:

Thanks for all the support!

Resources for Victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse

As I’ve worked on “Don’t Worry, I’m Fine”, I found a ton of great resources for men and women who are dealing with childhood sexual abuse. Not every resource is for everyone, but I thought I’d list some of the organizations that I admire:

1 in 6
This website has a 24 hour chat line to help survivors in crisis as well as a weekly group chat that can be very helpful. The website name comes from the statistic: “At least 1 in 6 men have been sexually abused or assaulted”.

Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN)
Not specific to men, but a great organization that is doing the hard work of helping people get the help they deserve.

Men Healing
This one of the first sites I found. They have a community forum that was helpful to see that I was not alone.

Survivor Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP)
SNAP is a powerful organization that helps people who were abused by the clergy. Their groups are open to abuse victims, even if clergy weren’t at fault.

The Bristlecone Project
An effort to record many men’s stories of recovery from childhood sexual abuse. These are powerful stories that helped me see myself in others.

There are so many more I could list. For a more comprehensive list, Mike Lew (author of Victims No Longer) has a great list: https://nextstepcounseling.org/organizations

We’ve been working really hard on the newest film, but we’ve finally decided on a final
name for the film. Instead of “Don’t Worry, I’m Fine”, we’re pivoting to the new name:

Man Enough to Heal

We feel that this new name is more in line with what the film has to say. I’d love your feedback on the name. Feel free to email me at Twain Films with your feedback!
